Home Sweet Home

March 14, 2009 -

Leah has been home for three days now. Things are going well and she has turned out to be a pretty good baby. (Obviously, since I actually have time and energy to create this post).

Her hobbies include eating, sleeping, pooping and snuggling with Momma.

Her frequent visitors include Aunt Debbie, Aunt Vicki, Neenee, and Grandma Meyer (we're still deciding on a code name for "grandma").

Today she got to hang out with Great-Grandma Sagez.

Baby Shower

The Baby Shower for Baby Tebbe's arrival was fantastic! I can not thank my friends and family enough for being there and being so supportive during this exciting time in our lives.

After getting everything home it was a little overwhelming to have all the wonderful gifts take up my living room and dining room.

But, after a long night, I think I can say I am finally ready! After a long day of a Baby Shower, this mom-to-be stayed up until 11:30pm to put all of the wonderful gifts in their respective places. The bedding is ready, the monitor set up, the bouncer waiting...now all we need is the baby!

Baby Tebbe should be the best dressed Baby in town... (until she is about one) :-) ! I think she and I have about the same amount of clothes...and she isn't even here yet!

Nursery

So the nursery is coming along quite well. My mom and grandma have been hard at work these last few months making the diaper hanger, organizer, basket liners, bedskirt, and bumper pad.

Baby Tebbe sure has a one of a kind bedroom!

Thanks to my dad and a little help from a coworker I have a chair to match the nursery as well.

3D Ultrasound Photos

Yesterday I had the opportunity to try the new 3D/4D Ultrasounds. After a long 2-3 hour wait, I got my 5 minute peek at Baby Tebbe.

Although it was not easy to get a great shot of her, the ultrasound tech did the best job she could. It seems like Baby Tebbe likes to keep her arms and hands up around her face and head (just like the 19 week ultrasound).

And boy does she have her Daddy's nose!

Time Is Drawing Near

So, there are only about 7 weeks left until Baby Tebbe arrives!

Rick and I have been preparing ourselves for the moment with Birthing Class, which is well worth the money. I would highly suggest it to any couple. Plus, it helps the new dad understand what mom has been going through. I have to say, sometimes it is a challenge in my house to get Rick to understand the vast changes going on.
I think from his perspective the only changes that he sees is that he gets stuck cleaning the house more.

Dr. Konkol announced that Baby Tebbe is head down already, right where she should be. Which of course I already knew thanks to the not-so-suttle kicks to my ribs.
Hiccups are occurring often with Baby Tebbe - mostly at night when I am praying for a good nights rest, and only ONE potty break through the night. HA! Soon I’ll be praying for one good HOUR worth of rest, and that Rick changes a diaper or two...
Boy - how our priorities will change. Now we discuss who is going to let Lily out to go potty. My guess is the offers to let Lily out will increase in number as trades to change the baby.

The BABY SHOWER is fast approaching as well - February 8, 2009. There are lots a things a baby needs (or more like mom and dad need) to make life a little easier with the Little One.
